International plastics firm’s U.S. headquarters lands in DeSoto

A Sweden-based plastics firm, Diab Group, has leased a building in DeSoto for its U.S. headquarters.

Diab Americas LP will occupy more than half of the office and industrial building a 220 E. Danieldale Road near Interstate 20. The international firm leased 265,248 square feet in the I-20 Corporate Center.

“Diab Americas and the landlord will be spending $5 million to upgrade the facility to the tenant’s world-class standards,” Kevin J. Santaularia, president and CEO of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, said in a statement.

Bradford’s Santaularia, Michael W. Spain and Michael T. Grant negotiated the lease with Craig Jones and Caleb McCoy of Jones Lang LaSalle.

Diab’s new headquarters will include 23,000 square feet of offices and 242,248 square feet of warehouse space. The company is planning to move in next month.

Diab was founded in 1950 and is based in Helsingborg, Sweden.

In June, the company purchased foam products manufacturing line from Saudi Arabia-based SABIC. Diab said in an announcement that it will relocate the acquired production line equipment to its manufacturing site in DeSoto.
