Apart from facilitating business continuity in uncertain socio-economic conditions, technology can also be accredited as the greatest enabler for innovation as well as transformation. Technology provides the means to create and make a difference in society, which ultimately brings lasting human progress and radical transformation. Dell’s flagship Designathon event is the biggest testament to how effective tools and devices can drive unprecedented levels of innovation.
Technology propelling social innovation and sustainability
Innovation in itself is an intangible idea that cannot be brought to fruition without leveraging technology as a medium to do so. Two very notable ways technology propels innovation is that it facilitates experimentation and boosts co-creation and collaboration. Dell’s very own Designathon event is a prime example of how technology opens the door for social innovation and sustainability.
Dell Designathon is a one-of-a-kind design-led challenge that encourages innovation and inspires nascent startups to devise path-breaking solutions that can drive societal as well as business value in the VUCA world. This forward-looking event, institutionalized by Dell Technologies, is engineered exclusively to accentuate the immense potential and innovative capacity of young startups by replicating the competitive nature of the global business landscape. Dell Technologies held the 4th edition of their progressive Designathon event on August 25 2022 to celebrate the power of innovation and applaud the contribution of young startups in driving the technology revolution across the nation.
Returning after 2.5 years with a unique yet pertinent theme (Design for Change) the event witnessed 10 young start-up teams, comprising product designers, application developers, and UI/UX designers, shed light on their groundbreaking and unprecedented solutions that aim to facilitate social upliftment. To convert their nascent ideas into reality, the teams were provided with brand-new Precision series laptops equipped with the latest processors, next-gen graphics, brand-new display options, and everlasting battery life. Dell’s next-generation precision mobile workstations enabled the participants to easily glide through the technical complexities of converting their creative product ideas into prototypes ready for testing. Owing to its ability to handle demanding workloads with ease, Dell Precision series laptops simplified the product designing process for the teams and provided them with a smooth and seamless working experience.
Thus, by leveraging the right devices throughout the design process, the startup teams participating in the Designathon event were able to transform their concept notes into final deliverables and present them to the jury for further assessment.
