ET MSME Awards 2022, a flagship initiative by the Economic Times to celebrate India’s micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) and their enablers, boasts an impressive jury panel comprising key leaders and stakeholders of the MSME ecosystem.

Registration for the third edition of the ET MSME Awards – which will recognise MSMEs under 26 different award categories and sub-categories – will remain open until 31 October 2022, with the programme itself spanning a duration of over three months, culminating in the final on-ground felicitation ceremony in early 2023.

The ET MSME Awards 2022 programme is an ET Digital initiative, brought to you in association with healthcare startup Onsurity as powered by partner, communications company Zoom as the platinum partner, fintech company Vivriti Capital and telecommunications company Airtel as gold partners, MSME business accelerator network, Indian SME Accelerator Network as knowledge partner, and IndusInd Bank as banking partner.

The programme will be conducted in four different phases:
call for entry, shortlisting and documentation, jury round for selection of final candidates, and the felicitation or the award ceremony. The esteemed jury members of ET MSME Awards 2022 will evaluate the shortlisted MSMEs during a virtual jury meet and decide upon the finalists for each award category during the 3rd phase of the programme.

Here’s more about the six jury members of ET MSME Awards 2022:

Dr. Glory Swarupa, Director General, National Institute for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises: A seasoned professional in the field of entrepreneurship and skilling with over two and half decades worth of experience, Dr Swarupa has worked with different institutions under various Union Ministries including the Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change; Ministry of Education; Ministry of Fisheries; Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, and Bhartiya Skill Development University.

Her core areas of expertise include Policy Advocacy, Research, Designing International & National Programs, Training, Teaching, Extension, Mentoring, Monitoring, Consultancy and Documentation. Besides this, she has authored 8 books, published 51 scientific papers, 5 films and handled several research projects. Dr Swarupa has also presented papers in many International Conferences.

Ravi Venkatesan, Founder, GAME: Founder of the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) and UNICEF’s Special Representative for Young People and Innovation, Ravi Venkatesan has also formerly held the positions of Chairman at Bank of Baroda, Microsoft India, and Cummins India and Co-Chairman at Infosys Ltd. He also helped establish the Cummins College of Engineering, India’s first engineering college for women, in Pune.

Besides this, Venkatesan is the founder of Social Venture Partners India, a pan-India network of philanthropists and is a partner at impact investor Unitus Ventures. To add to his list of accolades, he is the author of an acclaimed book “Conquering the Chaos: Win in India, Win Everywhere” published by Harvard Business Review.

R Narayan, President, FICCI-CMSME (Confederation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises):In October 2020, R Narayan, Founder & CEO, Power2SME was elected as president of Confederation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSME), an affiliated body under the umbrella of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), an apex Chamber of Commerce & Industry of India. FICCI-CMSME’s vision is to empower Indian MSMEs and build their competitiveness by working closely with the MSME sector to identify issues and suggest viable solutions. CMSME plays an active role in connecting MSMEs to investors, incubators, accelerators, and assist MSME capacity building programs and services.

An entrepreneur for the last 19 years, R Narayan has over 26 years of general management, sales and marketing experience. Narayan has been honored with many laurels and accolades and is widely acclaimed for his contribution to the SME sector. Narayan is a recognized thought leader across policy, SME and entrepreneurial platforms and was awarded the Serial Entrepreneur India Awards 2013 by Franchise India.

Rachana Bhusari, VP & Business Head – NSE Emerge, NSE: Vice President and Business Head of NSE Emerge at the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (which is currently ranked the world’s second largest exchange in Cash Market Trades), Rachana has been working with NSE for the past 21 years. In her current role, she is responsible for all India business development initiatives of NSE for listing of Small and Medium Enterprises on the exchange’s platform – NSE Emerge.

In her earlier roles at NSE, she has handled functions like Listing, Investigation, Member Supervision, and Clearing Corporation Operations. Bhusari is also the Vice Chairperson of the World Federation of Exchanges – SME Working Group.

Alok Kedia, Country Head – SME Banking, IndusInd Bank: A chartered accountant with around 25 years of experience in top, senior and middle management positions in reputed multinational companies and private banks in India, Alok Kedia has a diverse industry background with exposure to general management, client relationship, business development, products and credit appraisals in banking and financial services sector.

He is currently the Country Head – SME Banking, IndusInd Bank and manages an assets book size of Rs 25,000 crore and liabilities portfolio worth Rs 3,500 crore. Kedia has a proven track record of setting up and building new businesses in banks.

Ketan Gaikwad, Managing Director and CEO, RXIL: A seasoned banker with a career spanning over 29 years, Ketan Gaikwad is currently the Managing Director and CEO of Receivables Exchange of India Limited (RXIL). Prior to joining RXIL, he held a leadership role in transaction banking at Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

Gaikwad started his career with Bank of Baroda and has held multiple roles in Standard Chartered before he went on to head trade finance at Barclays Bank. A science graduate from Mumbai University, he also has a Master’s degree in Management Studies from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune and has completed the Executive Leadership Program from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.

ET MSME Talks series

The ET MSME Awards 2022 also features
ET MSME Talks, a series of high-impact panel discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses, and presentations by industry experts, policymakers, and top business leaders. The first of these conversations, which was hosted as a live webinar in September, was on the importance of digital communication and collaboration platforms for MSME growth with Annand Bala, Business Leader, Mass Market – India & SAARC, Zoom.

As part of the ET MSME Talks, ET Digital will be hosting over 10 conversations on a range of topics focused on MSME growth, including leveraging the right communication solutions, financial services, digital transformation, e-commerce, insurance, and global competitiveness, among others.

Later this month, ET MSME Talks will feature a special masterclass with
T Koshy, CEO, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) on ‘Democratising ecommerce and powering digital-first MSMEs.’
